## In short

- The first screen is what people see before they scroll, and it decides whether they do.
- It has three jobs: say what you do, show it is for them, and give a clear way in. Most first screens do one of them.
- We design it for a desktop and a phone, because they are two different first screens.
- Start with a free 15-minute call.

## Why it’s hard

You get a few seconds, and the screen has to do three jobs in them.

- **Too little room.** A headline, a line, an image and a button have to carry the whole pitch above the fold.
- **Everyone wants it.** The team wants the logo wall, the announcement and the demo video all up top. A crowded top says nothing clearly.
- **Generic by default.** A big photo, a bold line and a button is the default hero. People have seen it a thousand times and skim it.
- **Two screens, not one.** The first screen on a phone is not the desktop one squeezed down. It needs its own design.

## What we build

A first screen designed for the first few seconds.

- **One idea up top.** A headline that says what you do, supporting words that make it concrete, and nothing competing with them.
- **Something real to look at.** The product, the work or the proof, shown in a way that is specific to you rather than a stock image.
- **A clear way in.** One obvious next step, in reach on both a phone and a desktop.
- **Designed for both screens.** We design the phone and the desktop first screen separately, and check each on real devices.

## Call. Design. Go live

- **Call.** 15 minutes, free. You tell us what you’re making and who it’s for. We say which plan fits and when it could be live.
- **Design.** Every page, from scratch. We design every page from scratch, for your brand and your buyers. You review it and we refine it until you sign it off. Nothing is built before you do.
- **Go live.** About a week for a launch page. We build it in Framer or custom code, fast on every screen, connect your domain and show you how to edit it. Full sites take two to three weeks.

## Plans

The first screen is the heart of a launch page and the front door of a full site. Flagship builds can add motion to it. Every project starts with a free 15-minute call. You get a plan, a fixed price and a date before anything is built.

## Questions

### What is the first screen?

What a visitor sees before they scroll. On most sites that is the headline, a line under it, an image and a button.

### Can you redesign just my homepage?

Often, yes. We look at it on the call and say whether the homepage alone is the right fix or whether the rest needs to follow.

### Will you use stock photos?

We avoid them where we can. We prefer to show your product, your work or something drawn for you.

### What about animation in the hero?

Motion can help when it explains something. On a flagship build we design it with care so it adds to the screen without slowing it.

### How do you know it works?

We cannot promise numbers. We design from what you tell us about your visitors, test it on real devices, and give you a page that is clear and specific.
