Product Hunt Launch Agencies: What They Do vs What You Can Do Yourself
the short version
- Posting on Product Hunt is free. You can hunt your own product. Product Hunt says paying someone to hunt it goes against their guidelines.
- A useful agency fee buys prep and a person on the day: the listing, the outreach, the replies. It cannot buy a rank.
- Two public prices we checked in October 2026: non-stop.agency from €300 to €2,000, and Tetriz at $900 plus ranking bonuses.
- Asking people to upvote, or paying for upvotes, is against Product Hunt’s rules and can get the launch removed.

A Product Hunt launch agency sells preparation and company on the day. Posting the product is free, and Product Hunt tells makers to hunt it themselves. The fee is worth a conversation when nobody on your team can be awake for the day, or when the listing and the outreach are the thing you keep postponing. It is a bad purchase when the promise is a badge.
This post is the money and the job split. The page itself (what to prepare, in what order) is how to launch an app on Product Hunt. The hour-by-hour across X, TikTok and Product Hunt is the launch-day run sheet.
We have not launched a client’s app on Product Hunt. Ignura is a new studio. The prices below are copied from the agencies’ own sites on 10 October 2026, and from Product Hunt’s own help pages. We are not grading their past launches.
What you can do yourself
Product Hunt’s preparation page is more specific than most agency homepages.
Open the account before you need it. Newly created accounts have to wait a week before they can post a product. Product Hunt recommends joining months earlier than that, three months or more if you can, and actually using the site. An account born the night before looks like what it is.
Hunt it yourself. Hunting means posting. Product Hunt says a hunter can be you, a co-maker, or a user who likes the product, and that waiting for a famous hunter is a distraction. On the same page they publish two figures from their own data: 79% of featured posts were by makers who self-hunted, and 60% of number-one Product of the Day winners were self-hunted. Those are Product Hunt’s numbers, not ours.
Do not pay someone to be the hunter. The same page says there is no rule against a hunter outside your team, and that paying people to hunt your product goes against their guidelines. Products caught breaking the rules can be unfeatured or removed, and the makers can be banned. That sentence matters when you read a package that includes “we hunt it for you.”
Share the link. Do not ask for the vote. The launch guide says never ask outright for upvotes. The sharing article says you may send a direct link. It tells you not to mass-message people asking them to upvote, not to offer a reward for an upvote, and not to organise a group to vote together. Ask people to try it and say what they think. The tagline, the gallery, the maker comment and the replies are the rest of the job. Our checklist is that order. None of it requires an invoice.
What the fee is actually for
Strip the badges off a Product Hunt proposal and four jobs are left.
| Job | You can do it | What you are paying for |
|---|---|---|
| The listing | Yes. Tagline, gallery, maker comment | A second pass from someone who has shipped a lot of listings |
| The outreach | Yes, if you have users and a spare week | Lists, messages, and the nagging |
| The day | Yes, if someone can be awake and reply | A person whose only job is the comments and the timing |
| The rank | No | Nothing real. The platform does not sell this |
A good consultant is a project manager for a 24-hour page. A bad one is a reseller of upvotes. “You still have the listing, the replies, and the files” is a job. “You will be number one” is a story. Product Hunt’s preparation page lists plenty of other reasons to launch: comments, followers, traffic, leads, a milestone. Competitors and moderation are outside anyone’s contract. non-stop says they cannot guarantee a rank. Tetriz says guaranteeing Product of the Day is a red flag. Believe the FAQ over the hero number.
Two published prices
We opened public Product Hunt offers and kept the ones that print a number and a scope. This is not a complete directory.
non-stop.agency scopes the work after a free 30-minute call. Packages run from €300 to €2,000. There is no fixed menu. A one-off consultation, if you only want a review of a plan you already wrote, is €100 an hour. The engagement they describe is a custom plan, a preparation phase, and launch-day coordination with their team. They say lighter jobs can start late, and that a full campaign wants at least a month, ideally two. They say they do not guarantee a rank.
€300 and €2,000 are not the same product. Ask which one the quote is before you compare them.
Tetriz prints a small menu.
| Option | Price | What the page says you get |
|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself | Free | Their launch template, a list of communities, a list of topics |
| All-in launch | $900, plus bonuses | One consulting call, a customised template, they hunt the launch, they share it to their audience, a LinkedIn lead list |
| Homepage feature | +$100 | Bonus if you are featured |
| Top 10 | +$200 | Bonus, and they say this includes the newsletter |
| Top 5 | +$300 | Bonus, and a Product of the Day badge |
| Demo video | $500 | Screen recording and a native-speaker voiceover |
| LinkedIn list add-on | $50 | A database of Product Hunt users and outreach copy |
The free row is a reminder that the floor is zero. The $900 row includes hunting the launch for you. Put that next to Product Hunt’s line on paying a hunter, and decide with your eyes open. A performance bonus tied to rank is not the same thing as a pile of bought upvotes, and it is still a fee that only pays them when the leaderboard does. Ask what the $900 covers on a day you are not featured. If the answer is the call, the template and the share, that is the product. The bonuses are extra, and they are not yours to demand.
What changes the quote
From the two pages above, the number moves with scope and with how late you are, not with a secret rate card.
Advice versus the day. €100 for an hour is a review. €2,000 at non-stop, or $900 at Tetriz, is someone in the campaign. If your quote does not say which, send it back.
How much of the listing exists. A founder with a tagline, a gallery and a maker comment is buying a review. A founder with a TestFlight build and a blank draft is buying the page. Those should not cost the same.
Lead time. non-stop says a full campaign wants a month or two. Turning up the week before is a smaller job or a worse one, not a discount you should expect.
Assets on the side. Tetriz prices a demo video at $500, separate from the launch fee. If your gallery needs a film, that is its own budget. Ours, for a 30–60 second launch film, starts at £3,000. That is a different film, for X, your site and the App Store, not a Product Hunt voiceover. The structure is in how to structure a launch film.
The rank. It should not be in the price. If a proposal gets more expensive because it promises a higher place, you are being asked to pay for an outcome the platform does not offer for sale.
When to hire, and when to skip it
Skip the agency when someone can cover the day, you have users you can email without begging for a click, and the listing is drafted. The free Tetriz template, or our checklist, is the whole job.
Hire when the date is real and the page is not, or when the only person who can reply is also shipping the build. Pay for the listing, the plan and the company. Do not pay for a hunter, and do not pay for upvotes.
A Product Hunt package is the wrong hire when the hole is the rest of the launch. The homepage, the App Store set, the film and the videos are the menu. Ignite, four weeks of all of them, is from £16,000. If Product Hunt is one line on a longer day, read the run sheet.
Questions
Do I need a Product Hunt launch agency?
No. Product Hunt tells you to hunt your own product, and their preparation page says most featured posts, and most number-one days, were self-hunted. You need an agency only if you want someone else to do the prep and sit the day with you.
How much does a Product Hunt launch agency cost?
On the two sites we checked, non-stop publishes €300 to €2,000, with €100 an hour for a consult, and Tetriz publishes a free kit or $900 plus small ranking bonuses, with a $500 demo video if you need one. Anyone who will not say what the fee includes is not comparable to either number.
Can an agency guarantee Product of the Day?
No. Both agencies above say so, and Product Hunt can remove a launch that breaks the upvote rules. Treat a guarantee as a reason to walk away.
What should I do the week I decide to skip the agency?
Open the account if it is new, write the maker comment, and put the day on the run sheet. If the thing you are actually missing is the rest of the launch, book a free 15-minute call and bring the build. We will tell you whether Product Hunt is even the next job.
