How Much Does UGC for Apps Cost? Per-Video Math for Founders
the short version
- A per-video price is creator pay, plus a platform fee, plus whatever edit and ad rights were left out.
- JoinBrands’ campaign builder defaults a UGC video to $60 in the US and £50 in the UK, and will not go under $50. Pay-as-you-go adds 15%.
- Billo says videos start at $99, with no subscription. That basic video does not include captions.
- Ignura’s batch is 10–20 finished videos from £3,000. If one misses 10k views in 2 weeks, you get your UGC money back.

A per-video price without nouns is not a price. The nouns are how many finished videos, who edits them, whether you can run them as ads, and whether a platform takes a cut on top of the creator. A “$99 video” and a “£3,000 batch” are only comparable after you do that maths.
Every figure below comes from a page we opened in October 2026. The sums are arithmetic on those published starts. They are not the quote you will get once the video is longer, the creator is a higher tier, or you add hooks. Where a marketing page disagrees with the company’s own help centre, we use the help centre.
What the invoice should list, whoever you hire, is what to pay for UGC. How to brief the video is UGC for apps.
The four lines on any per-video price
Before the platforms, the lines. If a quote is missing one, you do not have a price yet.
| Line | Why it changes the fee |
|---|---|
| Creator pay | The person on camera. Sometimes this is the whole sticker, sometimes it is hidden inside it |
| Platform fee | A percentage on top, or a monthly subscription you pay even for one video |
| Edit | Raw footage, captions, or a cut you can post |
| Rights | Organic only, or paid ads, for how long, and from whose account |
JoinBrands: a default, a floor, then a percentage
JoinBrands’ campaign pricing article is the builder, not the homepage. For a classic pay-per-job UGC video (how-to, unboxing, review, demo, and similar), the builder pre-fills $60 in the US and £50 in the UK. The floor is $50 (and £50, CA$50, AU$50, €50). You cannot set the job lower. Some marketing pages on the same company say videos start at $25. The help centre does not. We are using the help centre.
The price per job is what the creator earns before the platform fee. On top of it you pay a fee that depends on the plan: 15% with no subscription, 12% on Start-up, 10% on Pro, 8% on Max.
So one US video at the default, pay-as-you-go, is $60 plus 15%, which is $69. Ten of those, if every one stayed on the default, is $600 plus 15%, which is $690. The UK default is £50 plus 15%, which is £57.50, and ten is £575.
Two uplifts sit on that default, and only if you choose them. Basic UGC is 50% more at creator level 2 and 100% more at level 3. A level-3 US video at the $60 default is $120 to the creator, plus 15%, which is $138. A 60-second how-to is 20% more than the 15-second baseline. Do not assume the $60 survives a real brief.
Billo: $99 to start, and the edit is extra
Billo’s own pricing note, dated 9 October 2026, says videos start at $99, no subscription required to order, and creator pay is inside that price. Length, format, premium creators and extra hooks move it up. The full rate card lives inside the product, so $99 is a published floor, not a quote.
Read what $99 includes. Billo says the basic video is the raw file the creator films from your brief, without captions, music or graphics, plus two revisions that stay inside the brief, plus usage rights once you approve. Captions-only editing, a Billo-cut ad, extra hooks, extra crops, organic posting and partnership ads are add-ons. They do not print the add-on prices in that article, so we will not invent them.
If ten videos all stayed at the $99 start, the order would be $990. Billo says most choices push the price up, so treat $990 as a floor, not the invoice. A managed service starts at $2,000 a month if you want them to plan, brief and edit. You do not need it to buy videos. The missing captions still matter: someone has to cut the raw file to the screen recording, and if that someone is you, the $99 price stopped early.
Insense: a subscription, then the creator, then a fee
Insense’s pricing page has two bills. The plan, and the creator, who is not included.
| Plan | What the page lists | Marketplace fee on creator pay |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | from $650 a month, up to 10 creators. It upgrades to Brand unless you cancel | 20% |
| Brand | $500 a month, billed quarterly at $1,500, or $400 a month billed annually at $4,800 | 10% |
| Agency | $800 a month, billed quarterly at $2,400, or $640 a month annually at $7,680 | 7% |
On the same page, Insense says UGC campaigns start at $100 per video, and that working with a UGC expert, or asking for raw plus edited files, costs more. Creators name their own price. The $100 is a start, not an average.
One video at that start, on the Trial plan, is $100 plus 20%, which is $120, and you are also paying $650 that month even if you only buy one. Ten videos at $100 on the Brand plan are $1,000 plus 10%, which is $1,100 in creator costs, plus the $1,500 quarterly subscription. The subscription is not divided by the videos unless you are going to keep using the seat.
Insense allows up to three revisions, and the notes have to stay inside the original brief. A new hook after delivery is a new video.
A studio batch, priced as a batch
Platforms are a marketplace. A studio is a counted job. Two public studio menus, then ours.
Peeked, updated 30 September 2026, sells creator-shot videos for AI and consumer apps: $2,000 for 10, $3,600 for 20, $6,400 for 40, in 7–10 days. Paid-ad rights are 40% more for 90 days. An extra hook is $60. The monthly plan is $3,200 for 20 videos, three-month minimum. Ten videos you can run as ads are $2,000 plus 40%, which is $2,800. Twenty with rights are $5,040.
Ignura sells a batch, not a per-video menu. 10–20 videos, scripted, filmed, edited and ready to post, in one to two weeks, from £3,000. That is the line on the UGC page. Spread across the batch, £3,000 is £300 a video if you receive 10, and £150 a video if you receive 20. That division is arithmetic so you can compare. It is not a rate card. You cannot buy one video from us at £150.
The guarantee, in the words we use everywhere: if a video doesn’t hit 10k views within 2 weeks, you get your UGC money back. That is the UGC fee, not a promise about installs.
If you want videos every month after launch, that is Burn: 20 videos for £6,000, 30 for £8,000, or 40 for £10,000, paid monthly in advance. £6,000 for 20 is £300 a video at the starting tier. £10,000 for 40 is £250 a video. One month’s notice to stop.
Under £3,000 is paid upfront. A £3,000 batch is 50% upfront and 50% on delivery.
The same ten videos, at the published floor
Use this only as a floor. The moment you add length, a higher creator level, captions or ad rights, the platform rows move. The studio rows are packages, so they already include a count.
| Route | Published start | Ten videos, if nothing is added |
|---|---|---|
| JoinBrands, US, pay as you go | $60 creator + 15% | $690 |
| JoinBrands, UK, pay as you go | £50 creator + 15% | £575 |
| Billo | $99, raw, no captions | $990 |
| Insense Brand, at their $100 start | $100 + 10%, plus the quarter | $1,100, and $1,500 for the quarter |
| Peeked, with paid-ad rights | $2,000 + 40% | $2,800 |
| Ignura | 10–20 finished videos | from £3,000 for the batch |
None of those rows is a market rate. They are six public offers, and each row down the table does more of the job: a file, then captions, then a subscription, then a counted package, then a batch that is scripted and edited. A creator you pay directly will not match any of them, and we will not invent that rate.
What the cheap video is missing
Three gaps show up when you try to post the $69 file. The creator still needs a TestFlight invite and an account with believable data, or the video is a face with no product. Ten videos with one hook each teach you nothing, and extra hooks are a line item (Peeked prints $60). Raw files the week of launch are not a posted video. If the quote says “creator delivery” and your plan says “posted,” those are different dates.
Questions
How much does one UGC video for an app cost?
At the floors above: about $69 on JoinBrands in the US, $99 to start on Billo for a raw video, and $100 plus a fee on Insense before the subscription. Studios sell batches. Peeked’s ten-pack is $2,000 before ad rights. Ours starts at £3,000 for 10–20 finished videos.
Is a $99 video the same as a studio video?
No. Billo’s $99 start has no captions. A studio batch is scripted, edited and counted. Price your own editing time before you call the $99 one cheaper.
Do I pay a fee on top of the creator?
On JoinBrands, 8% to 15% on top of the creator’s price. On Insense, 7%, 10% or 20%, plus the subscription. Billo’s published start includes creator pay. If a studio will not say, the second invoice is the fee.
What if a video gets no views?
If it is one of ours and it doesn’t hit 10k views within 2 weeks, you get your UGC money back. That is a refund of the fee, not a promise about downloads. A marketplace video does not come with that sentence unless the creator wrote it down. If you have a quote and you cannot see the edit, the hooks or the rights, book a free 15-minute call and read it out. We will tell you which line is missing.
